There have been times the sun hits my windshield at just the right angle causing me temporary blindness. I’d be in a big world of hurt if at that moment a person walked out or a car all of a sudden turned in front of me. It’s not until I put my sun glasses on and pull down the visor that I feel comfortable driving again. I can now see what is front of me.
Paul states in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that Satan blinds the minds of unbelievers so they can’t see the gospel. It is my belief that he also uses this same tactic with believers. Our adversary doesn’t want us to keep going forward in letting Jesus replace us with Him.
We especially need our Songlasses when it seems we can’t see what our next step should be. Yes, you read that right, Songlasses. It’s another name for the Word of God. We need our Songlasses to filter out Satan’s light (2 Cor. 11:14) so we can keep our eyes focused on Jesus. Only the truths found in God’s world will keep us from hurting ourselves and those around us by keeping us from taking our drugs of choice. What lies will your Songlasses filter out today?
