I heard a professional baseball player once say, “I have to slow the game down. I have to focus on each pitch, not the end result, if I’m going to be successful at this game.”
This little girl wants to be president of the US someday, which is entirely possible. Yet, her Papi gives her spot on advice. Make leadership choices today and the rest will take care of itself.
Jesus said, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Jesus used a word for “worry” that means to have a divided mind. One that is both here and there, which not only brings anxiety, but keeps you from being ready for the choices – “trouble” – you must work through today.
Slow life down. Leave tomorrow, the end result, in the hands of the only One who can take care of today and tomorrow at the same time. Your part is to simply exercise the truth by faith today to become more like Jesus. Life as a believer truly is one day, one decision at a time in the moment.
